The year is 1992 and you are buying a car in Japan. You want an 5 speed automatic, a 256 hp V6, 4WS, GPS, an extended wheelbase, lots of leather, electronically controlled suspension, laser-guided cruise control, a backup camera, 4 wheel antilock discs, self-closing doors, dual airbags and advanced traction control. Never fear, you picky jackass! Mitsubishi has you covered with the pretty amazing Debonair! (There was an AMG version of the last gen, but the tech in the '92 is as cool)
Anyways, Mitsubishi used to be damned impressive. Nothing about this car really falls short today. The '92-'99 is FWD, which is somehow even more impressive.

We don't talk about the AMG Debonair...
We do talk about the AMG Galant!
And how coveted the spark plug cover is between Eclipse/Evo owners.

Awesome ADM Sports Sedan by Mitsubishi
"Based on the TJ Magna Series II, this sports sedan was born at a time when Mitsubishi's major rivals were also doing well with six-cylinder performance cars, so the company turned to Ralliart Australia – famous for its rally exploits – to help turn the Magna into something a little bit feral.
More horsepower always helps in that regard, so the Magna's 3.5-litre V6 received higher lift camshafts, improved gas flow cylinder heads and a higher compression ratio, lifting power by 17kW to 180kW at 5500rpm.
That might not be a huge output by today's standards, but the Magna Ralliart fairly flew. The five-speed manual version would hit 100km/h from standstill in 6.7 seconds (the five-speed auto managed 7.2 seconds) and did the standing 400 metres in 14.8: enough to see off its six cylinder rivals."

I wonder if they gather around in the boardroom after talking about their current offerings, and just stare at each other. Contimplating what the hell happened.

Don't forget the Galant VR-4, which WAS available in the US for a few years.
Granted, it's not a 'luxobarge' but it is a 276HP, twin turbo 24v V6 in a comfortable AWD sedan with active yaw control from an Evo.

JDM Luxobarge? lol.
FWD, V8, and all the feature you get in Debonair. Yes, Mitsubishi makes V8 too.
The new one looks pretty nice too:

They probably lament having wasted so much money on technology that doesn't sell well today.

All of the Infiniti Ms and Nissan President sedans are awesome. High-revving front-mid-engined V8 in a long wheelbase sexy frame.
